Cut Resistant Sleeves
Magid offers a variety of protective sleeves made with quality materials so you can work safely, efficiently, and comfortably around dangerous cut hazards.

Cut Resistant Sleeves

Many jobs in glass manufacturing, construction, and metal working require PPE that gives you an extra layer of protection against cut and laceration hazards. If you handle large or heavy materials or work near high cut hazards, a cut resistant sleeve can anticipate many of the sharp hazards in your work environment and offer an added layer of protection for your arms.

Cut resistant sleeves are frequently worn with cut resistant work gloves with the same ANSI cut resistance rating to provide protection up the elbow to your shoulder. They also fit close to the skin to give you a secure fit.

ANSI/ISEA 105-2016 Cut Resistance Levels

For both gloves and protective sleeves, cut resistance levels are defined by the weight (in grams) needed to cut through the material. The American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) cut resistance levels range from:

  • A1: Up to 200g, recommended for general purpose work and assembling small parts where minimal cut protection is needed
  • A2: Up to 500g, for general purpose work that requires light cut protection
  • A3: Up to 1,000g, for handling raw materials and construction tasks that need light cut protection
  • A4: Up to 1,500g, for HVAC work or tasks that need medium cut protection
  • A5: Up to 2,200g, for HVAC tasks and glass or metal sheet handling for medium-to-heavy cut hazards
  • A6: Up to 3,000g, for glass manufacturing, metal fabrication, and other tasks that encounter heavy cut hazards
  • A7: Up to 4,000g, for glass manufacturing and metal stamping
  • A8: Up to 5,000g, for metal stamping and heavy assembly work
  • A9: Up to 6,000g, for sharp metal handling, metal fabrication, and other tasks where you encounter sharp materials like glass or metal

Benefits of Cut Resistant Sleeves

In addition to cut and laceration resistance, certain sleeves provide added protection against abrasions and heat. They can also have qualities like:

·       Low-linting properties to protect products from contamination

·       Antimicrobial properties that inhibit bacteria growth

·       Hi-vis colors that let you be easily seen on the jobsite

·       Bicep treatments like concealed elastic, premium hook and loop closures, gusset closures, and alligator clips to create a secure and comfortable fit for various arm sizes. These treatments also help prevent the sleeve from sliding down your arm.

Innovative Cut Resistant Sleeve Materials

New technologies have made cut resistant sleeves lighter in weight, cooler, and stronger than ever before! Magid’s latest innovations in arm protection include:
